Stephen
Ministry is a significant Christian caring ministry. Rockland is a
body with many believers who want to serve in a caring capacity.
Are you someone whom people tend to seek out for a listening
ear? If so, perhaps you have the spiritual gift for caring
ministry. You may wonder... "What
would I talk about? Can I be eloquent and will I have all the
answers, especially about God... or the Word?"
Rest assured, with the Stephen's Ministry you are only asked
to listen, to be there in a time of need and to pray for your care
receiver. As a Stephen Minister your role is to merely be an
instrument and to let God do his work through you.
Often, when people are in a crisis,
family and friends may shrink away over time or may have too much
well intended advice to give. A Stephen Minister, on the other
hand, represents confidentiality, a "safe" person to
unload those deep feelings that may need to be expressed.
A Key tenet of a Stephen Minister is
to "listen"... not to fix/
The Stephen training program can equip you to minister to those in our
community who are hurting and in need. You will be trained and
supervised and will be capable of sharing the pastor’s work
load, thus providing care to many more people than he could serve
alone. Stephen Ministry has the potential to expand the depth,
breadth and scope of Rockland’s caring ministry.

proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by reaching out to others
through love and support so that together we might grow in…
