How to participate in Rockland’s Outreach Ministry

The Outreach Ministry Team appreciates this opportunity to commend and thank the members of Rockland Community Church for their support of outreach ministries both locally and worldwide.  The generosity of our members is truly in keeping with our calling as Christians to generosity, benevolence, evangelism and discipleship.  Each year the Outreach Ministry Team receives funds from the operating accounts of the congregation.  But each year we seek out and receive your overwhelming support for additional efforts that are identified as being Christ-centered, connected to Rockland Church, and effective and efficient ministries.  During the next several months, you will be presented with several opportunities to express your commitment to efforts beyond our doors. . . .

?Tanzania For several years members of Rockland have traveled to Arusha to support ministry efforts in this
impoverished area.  A Sister Church, a Medical Clinic, support for educational efforts, local ministry, and intervention on behalf of widows and orphans is just a part of our special connection to this area.  Those who have been able to travel there return transformed and committed.  Find out if there is a calling for you and your family in this special place.

?Mean Street Ministry A special ministry effort – shared and supported by many of our members – offering assistance to those in need in both East and West Denver.  Homeless, hungry, dependent, struggling, searching – all can find assistance through this unique street mission.  You will be presented with opportunities to be involved and challenges to your faith as you learn about what this ministry is all about!

?Romania An opportunity to be involved in the organizing of a special ministry effort.  Our members have traveled there as well as our youth.  There are children and young adults who need our support.  This is a great chance to combine our efforts through Outreach, Youth Ministry, and Religious Education.  There may be a place for you to be involved too!

?Local Missions Rockland has had a profound impact on several local mission efforts.  Evergreen Christian Outreach, Bridgeway, Loaves and Fishes, Mountain Area Pregnancy Center and the Clear Creek Rock House are currently receiving our support.  There are so many other ministries that could benefit and we will explore these with the Congregation for financial and volunteer support.

?Youth Mission Trips -Over the past 16 years, 1,250 + youth and adult participants have provided ministry in such places as Inner City Oakland, California, Boston Massachusetts and San Francisco as well as the Blackfoot Reservation in Mon tana, Cairo, Illinois and Cluj, Romania.  We have also experienced mission work at the Denver Rescue Mission, World Vision, Downtown Denver and Beverly Farms, Illinois.  We look forward to the next 16 years of youth mission opportuni- ties and thank you for your kind and generous support!

Rockland's Outreach Ministry
A pregnant Evergreen teen wonders where to turn for help. A Russian orphan needs a home. An indigent family wonders how they will be able to feed and shelter themselves. A prison inmate wonders where he will find the strength to turn his life around. An African girl needs food and medication. A college student wonders where to find truth and meaning amid a myriad of worldviews. A teen is burdened to be part of her church’s missionary effort but has no money to participate in the youth mission trip. A Native American comes from the reservation to Denver for major surgery and needs counseling and logistical support for her family. A homeless man in Denver just needs a warm meal, a place to stay, and some loving guidance out of his predicament.

What do all of these people have in common? These are people who, in one way or another, will receive aid from Rockland Community Church’s Outreach Ministry.

Rockland’s Board of Christian Outreach was created to reach out lovingly to others in our community and around the world, both in word and deed, through the love of Jesus Christ. As good stewards seeking to be obedient to the commands of the gospel, the board employs the financial and other resources entrusted by the church and individual contributors to meet these goals.

How to participate in Rockland’s Outreach Ministry
Prayer is the first line of support for these ministries. In addition, please also be regular in your pledging and contributions to the church. Pledging is particularly important because it helps us to plan our support of these worthy causes.

If you would like to be put on a special list to provide one-time financial aid to members of our congregation or community with specific needs, or if you are moved to provide special support to one of these or some other outreach ministry, please contact Rockland's Outreach Board @ Rockland@rocklandcc.org

Please contact the church office for further information and how you can help support these ministries.
[Here I feel we should have an online form and make it easy for people to pledge or get involved.]
