Worship and Music Ministries
Worship at Rockland is a very special time in the life of the church. It is where the community gathers to worship our Lord, supporting one another through prayer, singing, listening to beautiful music and learning through the preaching of God’s word. We also celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Communion regularly in the context of our worship services.
Volunteer Opportunties
Rockland has a rich tradition of members sharing their gifts and talents as a part of the worship services. Please read through these opportunities and if they are an interest to you please contact the person listed.
Chancel Choir - The adult choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. and supports the 8:00 and 9:30 A.M. services (during the school year) with hymn singing and uplifting, sacred choral music. All are welcome to join at any time during the year. Peggy Lundberg (ext. 202)
Contemporary Worship Team - supports the contemporary service and practices on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. The teams, includes vocalists, guitar, bass, drums, & percussion. Contact: Josh Garcia (ext 308)
Festival Choir - Twice a year Festival Choir offers people, who cannot make a full-time commitment to Chancel Choir, an opportunity to sing major choral works for the Christmas and/or Spring seasons. Peggy Lundberg (ext. 202)
Fellowship of Ringers – The hand bell ensemble meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 P.M. and rings for services every six weeks. Interested people are encouraged to join. Peggy Lundberg (ext. 202)
Special Music - Special Music augments worship each Sunday, and includes soloists, various small vocal ensembles, and a variety of instrumentalists. Contact: Susan Hutchinson Banning (ext. 302)
Audio Visual - Audio/Visual techs needed for services every Sunday, including sound techs, streaming video operators, and computer techs to project words/videos onto the screen . Contact: Chuck Banning (ext. 302)
