Introduction to Psalms for Lent

At Rockland we want to be a people who are immersed in God’s Word, shaped by it, and living our lives in obedience to it.  This Lent, we invite you to read a psalm a day.  God can work powerful transformation in a community when we join together in daily reading the same Scripture.  Immersing ourselves in the Psalms can transform our prayer lives.  They give us language to help us know how to respond to God. Through them, we also learn that we are free to bring all of our raw emotions before God – anger, gratitude, jealousy, joy, hatred, praise, fear, disappointment, awe, doubt, even depression. 

For each Psalm we have provided an overview, a short teaching, and questions or practices for you to consider.  You may want to try reading the Psalm aloud, as that is how they were originally used.  There is a Psalm for each day, Monday-Saturday (the 40 days of Lent do not include Sundays).  We would love for you to share with us how this is going for you!           Ken, Paul, and Sarah

Men's Ministry

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm

There is plenty of room for more men to join.

 As with the first half, each session easily stands on its own and the discussions in small groups have been thought provoking and timely.  We are covering a great deal of compelling material and we want to encourage you to get in the game, even if you’ve missed sessions in the past.  The second half includes such topics as Purpose, Vocation, Health and Relationships.  Plenty of good subjects for your New Years Resolution list!
